H
appy New Year! Now that the
holidays have past, and we are
all back to work its crazy to think
its 2022. We have the year in front of us
with new ideas and campaigns. First, The
Texas Surveyor magazine has gone digital
beginning with this January issue. There
are many benefits to a digital magazine
as it allows us to hyperlink websites,
email addresses and insert video content
that we cannot do with a print magazine.
The January and July issues will both be
DJ Kyle
in print and digital. By now, you have
probably already received this magazine in its digital version.
March, May, September, and
November will be digital only.
Keep an eye on your email so
you do not miss each issue
of The Texas Surveyor. The
pdf version of the magazine
can always be found here:

publications (which is linked
in digital version!).

Secondly, the Public Relations Committee is gearing up for a new
social media campaign. After the 2022 operating budget is approved,
Thrive Internet Marketing Agency will assist TSPS in creating the
content, branding, and the vision/mission for this campaign. You
will see a more consistent presence on LinkedIn, Facebook, and
Instagram. With our goal of getting more young people into the
profession “MORE SURVEYORS” from the Strategic Plan, it was
felt that social media may be the best avenue to reach this group. If
you are not already, please FOLLOW TSPS on these media outlets.
Symposium is just around the corner and will be hosted by TSPS
Chapter 10 – Permian Basin. The Chapter along with the Education
Committee have planned a fantastic schedule that includes twelve
different classes for RPLS and paraprofessional attendees. Get your
PDHs early by attending Symposium in Odessa on February 25-26.
The Final Episode of the Heart of Texas Boundary Retracement
Seminar that was cancelled in 2020 is back on for March 24-26,
2022. It has been said that this seminar brings into focus what
merely reading, and lecturing cannot accomplish. New surveyors,
and those planning to sit for the RPLS exam, will benefit greatly
from this course. Registration is open and limited to the first 32
registrants.
As you can see for the first quarter of the year, TSPS will be providing
quality education, active on social media, and be working with the
various committees to achieve the objectives of the Strategic Plan. ■
